We Stand

You never thought we would come back
Never thought there was anything left of us
You thought taking away all we had
Would take out the fight in us

You thought raping the land
Like you did to our ancestors in days past
Would take down the strongest warrior man
Never realizing us women are bad ass

See we fought battles too
With even our own men
We survived their abuse
And emotional famine

We been through the colonized dysfunction
You say is a way of life
We took the reservation
And made a home despite the strife

We stand now to defend our land
We stand waiting for your next dare
We stand with or without our men
We stand with our fists in air
